The Blanket is DONE!

THE BLANKET IS DONE!

I now realize just how unrealistic it was of me to expect to finish the blanket in just two or three weeks. It turns out just when you make plans to do things (like crochet a blanket) life will inevetably become infinitly busier. So I took a two week break from crocheting for a gruling period of exams, projects, assignments and presentations for school. After braving through that I was able to crochet/de-stress and veg out to the rhythm of watching movies on the couch while my brain recouperated. :)

It's so warm and cozy!

I'll post more about my next project soon!

Keep smiling,
Taylor

Hello,

Here it goes, my first every documented crochet blog project.

Back in the day my grandma used to knit A LOT! She made dozens of beautiful afghans and sweaters for the whole family. In fact, on cold night I'll sleep with a few of them. As she got older she stopped knitting and gave me a bunch of her old stuff. So, I've been using a lot of her old yarn for my projects and I did the same thing for this one.

Two weeks ago I started a crochet throw loosly based on this pattern. I really love zigzag patterns and I had a lot of cream yarn from my grandma I wanted to use. I just needed a couple of accent colours, so I chose these in "Black" and "Jade Heather". (I always look for coupons when buying my yarn. Michael's always has coupons online and in their flyers!)

So far I'm really liking it. The pattern is nice and easy and the yarn is smooth and light to work with.

My progress so far.
I'll keep you updated as I go along. I'm hope to finish in the next two or three weeks!

Happy day,
 Taylor

Hello,
I'm a 21 year old knitting and crocheting addict. I learned to knit when I was about 10 years old as a school elective. I have been knitting ever since, mostly just small easy projects like scarves, hats or blankets. Then, for Christmas of 2012 my brother gave me a crochet book and I've been teaching myself to crochet from that ever since.
My hope for this blog is to post my progress of the projects I'm working on as well as things that I find interesting or fun.

Thanks,
Taylor
